What Is SID/SPD?
Sensory integration disorder, also known as sensory processing disorder, is a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses. This can manifest in various ways, such as being oversensitive to stimuli like noise, lights, or textures, or hyposensitivity to sensory input. Individuals with sensory integration disorder may have difficulty with activities of daily living, learning, and social interactions. Treatment often involves occupational therapy to help regulate sensory input and improve overall functioning.
Sensory assessments are for all ages.
Testing includes various assessments, checklists, and observations, which will help identify sensory thresholds and further aid in understanding interventions.
